NA PALI
The NaPali Coast has the most magnificent mountain range you will see. The best ways to see it are by helicopter and by boat. The adventurous can also hike a portion of the trail (permit required).
Our favorite catamaran cruise is locally owned and operated and they provide the ultimate experience along the Na Pali coast. You’ll view wondrous sea caves, cascading waterfalls, uninhabited lush valleys, miles of white sand beaches and incredibly blue ocean water. Snorkel in the warm tropic water with equipment and instruction provided. Marvel at the colorful marine life, playful dolphins and humpback whales when in season(winter). Stops are made throughout the journey for informative and amusing commentary that allows ample opportunity for photos and video taping.
Including lunch, expect to pay $110 plus taxes.
Zodiac trips are also available. Zodiac rafting tours will take you to the most remote spots, allowing you to visit beaches and waterfalls, sea caves and cliffs rising thousands of feet high out of the ocean which are otherwise inaccessible. See marine birds, animals and an abundance of fish as well as humpback whales (in season). from Hanalei.

WAIMEA CANYON
Don't forget to visit this amazing canyan dubbed the Grand Canyon of the Pacific. Even if it is cloudy when you get there, be patient for amazing views and watch the mountain goats who claim it as their home. (free)

WAILUA RIVER
The Wailua River is the only navigable river in all Hawaii. Cruise boats depart every 30 minutes to take visitors to Fern Grotto. The Fern Grotto is a geological wonder of Kaua'i. Ferns actually grow upside down from the roof of the grotto.
Geologists say the grotto was formed millions of years ago. Native Hawaiian plants and colorful exotic tropical plants provide a rain forest atmosphere.
No Reservation needed. Prices under $20 for adults and under $10 for children for a riverboat ride with friendly family entertainment and a short hike to the Fern Grotto (slippery when wet -- wear appropriate shoes)

KAYAK ADVENTURES
For a completely different trip up the same river, try a kayak adventure, including a drive from the tour operators office ,kayak rentals and guided tours exploring the historical and religious significance of the Wailua River Valley and a stop for a deli style lunch at the waterfall. Along the way you can play on a roped swing over a crystal clear pool, swim under a waterfall, visit the Fern Grotto and much more. Plan to get wet and muddy and dress accordingly. Dry bags are provided for cameras etc.

HELICOPTER TOURS
Aerial tours of Kauai include breathtaking sights such as the Napali coast, Lumahai Beach ('South Pacific' Nurses Beach), Waimea Canyon (Grand Canyon of the Pacific), Hanalei Bay and Mount Waialeale (The wettest spot on Earth). Tours cover the the entire island and its amazing diversity in about an hour. Prices vary by length of tour. Various operators offer different options -- no doors, video, 4 seats, 6 seats from about $175pp.

SIGHTSEEING
Kauai is small enough to take a driving tour in a day, but there are many places you'll want to see again. Arriving in Lihue on the east coast you can drive north along the Coconut Coast to Hanalei and Princeville to the famous beach from South Pacific. Head south to go to Poipu and Waimea Canyon.
